I certainly wouldn't say that I'm a fan of Starbucks--unless we're talking about Starbucks ca. 1995--but I would definitely be a fan of the "mercantile, non-branded Starbucks." Is that fancy marketing speak for "Bizarro World Starbucks"?
I seem to have fallen into a Kopp's habit, so I need a healthy habit to counteract this newly acquired unhealthy one. Luckily, this wonderful blog happened to cross my virtual path: PCMH Nurse. In this article, the author actually relates her experience giving up coffee in order to be able to better empathize with her patients.
The story behind the store! While doing some Google research for a blog article, I came across treasuresof.com, a fantastic site highlighting locally owned businesses. (Here's the main listing for Milwaukee.) Their nifty approach is to turn each piece into a little narrative by talking about the owners by name. That makes it more interesting and less fluffy.
I read very few other blogs and almost never click the links provided by TypePad, but here's one I couldn't resist checking out: Daily Routines. From reading the current main page, I think it will be a source of endless fascination for me.
