Today has been one of those days that just steadfastly refuses to go my way. Aside from a brief respite at Alterra on Humboldt and reading details of U2's new album, the low-level irritation hasn't subsided. It's safe to day that cabin fever has taken its toll.
As I write, I'm in the midst of the horrible urban sprawl at the corner of 124th & Capitol on the border to Butler. A mile or so north is downtown Butler, which seems charming to me. I was happy to see that the original Butler Inn is still open for business, as I'd read of the Butler Inn in Pewaukee opening in recent years (I don't know what the relationship is, if any).
This Starbucks has a couple distinctive features. It shares a building with a Qdoba (part of a teenage and twentysomething power center?). It is also the only one I've ever seen with a basement. (Due, no doubt, to the store's small footprint in terms of square footage.) Without a doubt, it has the most musical street address of any Starbucks: One-Two-Three-Four-Five Capitol Drive.
