As one would expect, Festa Italiana has many more specialty coffee options than most festivals held on the Summerfest grounds. Two vendors, Bella Caffe and City.net Cafe, are solely dedicated to coffee drinks and related offerings. As my caffeine cutoff time was already nearing by the time I made it through the gate, I had to act fast. I reached Bella's stand (at the north end of the Miller Oasis area) first and was pleased to see that they sell Boom Bros. coffee, as proudly displayed on their elegant hot cups.
Aside about Bella's site: if words can have genders, can they also have sexual preferences? Please remind me never to use the word "exquisite"! Just kidding--I really must say that Bella's site is the best of any I've seen for a single-location outfit.
Anyway, I'm pleased about this coincidence, as I owe readers a report on the Boom Bros. coffee I am practically drowning in! At Bella's stand, I ordered a double espresso (3 oz.), which sells for $2.50. Obviously, it came in a paper cup, which in itself impairs the taste somewhat. Other than that, the espresso was perfectly fine. I wonder if Bella uses Boom's Velvet Hammer Blend, which I hereby declare to be the official espresso of espresso! My gosh, I get a contact high just smelling the beans! Bella's espresso, while not lacking in any respect, didn't quite reach the heights of the Velvet Hammer shots I've been pulling at home.
Stay tuned for a report about the City.net cafe stand. I will try to make it back to Festa by Sunday at the latest.
